Van der Garde's court ruling deferred to Wednesday.

The Australian court has deferred its decision to whether or not Giedo van der Garde can race until Wednesday at 10am. The Supreme Court of Victoria hear the case on Monday. According to Sauber it would be too dangerous to let van der Garde race. "Sauber could not allow him to race...it would be reckless and dangerous to do otherwise. It would results in an unacceptable risk of physical harm ir even death."

This whole situation has turned into a big mess. Van der Garde threatened legal action when he found out he wasn't going to get a race seat with Sauber at the end of last year and things had gone quiet until the last week. Van der Garde claimed his contract that he signed last year with Sauber was to be a reserve driver last year and then race this year. Sauber has instead signed drivers Marcus Ericsson and Felipe Nasr to race.

If Sauber had this in van der Garde's contract they should never have signed a second race driver and given a seat to van der Garde. However, now at this time it would be extremely difficult to get van der Garde in a car he has never driven before just a couple days before the first practice session.
